Chennai Railway Stations Awaits - Face Detection Software in CCT Cameras


Commonly, quite a lot of thousands of people will outdo the Chennai Central and Egmore railway stations throughout the summer vacation.
Criminal might be taking benefit over this crowd, to show their regular nab planning activities.
Hence, Government Railway Police (GRP) has been preparing to update its surveillance devices, by setting up face detection software in the Close Circuit Television (CCTV) cameras mainly in the Chennai railway stations.
Our main objective is to nourish the photographs of the ex convicts and highly hunted criminals in the software; there by once the CCTV cameras perceives the face it will be focus the construe and gives an alarm to the control room, says a senior officer of GRP.
After then the control room workforce, will then enhance the police man power under the premises of TamilNadu Special Police to get the hang of the victim for an enquiry.
In order to control the criminal’s activities during the holiday rush, nearly 1000 GRP work force will be getting positioned in the station across the state.
